Professional Licence

Standard Licence for heavy transport (Philippines)

If you are interested in pursuing a career as a public utility vehicle driver in the Philippines, what you will need is neither a student driver’s permit nor a non-professional driver’s license but a professional driver’s license. This is needed by drivers who operate vehicles that weigh more than 4600 kilograms like bulldozers and other heavy construction vehicles.

 

To apply for this license:

 

  • At least 18 years old

  • Physically and mentally fit to operate a motor vehicle

  • Can read and write in Filipino or English

  • Accomplished Application Form for Driver’s License (ADL). [Downloadable Form PDF 267Kb]

  • Student Permit (for light vehicle) or Non-Professional Driver’s License (for heavy vehicle)

  • Medical Certificate issued by a licensed physician.

  • Taxpayer’s Identification Number (TIN) if employed.

  • NBI or Police Clearance

Fast track course - Duration approx 1 day

To be eligible:

  • An applicant must acquire a Student Permit for at least six (6) months prior to the application. That is in the case of operating a light vehicle.

  • However, in the case of heavy vehicle, an applicant must be a holder of Non-Professional Driver’s License for at least 1 year prior to the application.

​

We’re an approved course provider. That means you can go straight from Professional Licence to Class 2 Learners Licence in only two days. No more waiting six months!

Class 2 course covers heavy vehicles with a gross laden weight between 4,500kg to 18,000kg with no more than 2 axles.

 

We offer four two-day classes each week, from 8:30am - 4:30pm approx.

  • Tuesday - Wednesday

  • Thursday - Friday

  • Saturday - Sunday

Class 2 Heavy Truck Full Licence includes

 

  1. Logbooks – Unit standard 24089 Fatigue Management, Work Time and Driver logbook. (5 credits) Logbook study guide provided for unit standard 24089

  2. Assessment of unit standard 17574: Operate a rigid vehicle to meet the requirements for a full Class 2 driver’s licence. (7 credits) Class 2 study guide provided for unit standard 17574
    (No resit fees on unit standard theory assessments if not passed straight away).

  3. Practical assessment and manual truck provided by NZ Training Assessments Ltd. (if automatic truck required see below).

Please note:

Once you have booked and paid, your study guides will be couriered to you. You must ensure that you have adequate time when booking your course to receive your study guides and complete them.

No re-sit fees for unit standard theory assessments.
Practical drive re-sit fee $120.00

Practical training is an additional $115.00 per lesson.

Credit registration fee of $60 will be charged only on completion of course,  this is to register your unit standards on the NZQA framework.

Additional $180.00 if need to complete practical drive assessment on an Automatic Class 2 vehicle. Please advise at time of booking should you require an Automatic Class 2.

You will receive a certificate on successful completion of the course, which you must take to the AA or VTNZ to have your license upgraded: $49.60
