Driven to bridge the gaps that exist between Maori and health research -- two communities that actually need and deserve each other.
Our people and this nation's health researchers can increase positive outcomes across an endless spectrum by effectively partnering with each other.
As a life-long resident of Counties Manukau region, I absolutely love our diversity and vibrant celebration of life. I'm equally dedicated to overcoming the challenges and ill-health that exist here (and across Aotearoa/New Zealand) for Maori.
Over my 25+ year career in nursing, midwifery, and university lecturing, I have seen that the ability to build relationships is the key to better health and living, now and in the future.
Iwi-United-Engaged-Ltd is an extension of this belief: that effective partnerships can be grown into productive sources of healthy information. History has not been kind in alleviating Maori distrust of researchers and studies, and Maori deserve better than that.
This is why I enjoy bringing two great groups together to enable positive experiences through introductions, education, consulting, troubleshooting, facilitating focus groups and coordinating studies that are beneficial to Maori.
Please feel free to contact me for more information about the ways we create engagement and encourage positive health-related research outcomes through our kaupapa Maori approach.
